Fences

Fences are available in many styles and can be constructed from a number of different materials. An Anchor consultant will help you determine what would best suit your particular situation, based upon your yard, needs, neighborhood requirements and budget. Here's a brief summary of Anchor's fences:
Ornamental Steel and Aluminum Fences
Anchor proudly features the Ameristar® line of ornamental fences. They are available in Montage™ (profusion-welded galvanized steel with a durable E-Coat finish) and Echelon Plus™ (heavy-duty aluminum); several featured colors include black and bronze. These fences are designed to have the classic visual appeal of wrought iron without the rust problems and extremely high cost. Typical applications for ornamental fencing are pool security and upscale yard enclosures. Although generally more expensive than a comparable quantity of wood fence, ornamental fences have a very long service life and are free of most maintenance issues surrounding wood fencing. Available in several sizes from 3 feet to 6 feet tall, Ameristar's fences also offer a number of different style options and are backed by an industry-leading warranty. PVC (Vinyl) Fences
This type of fence has evolved from just a few plain styles a decade ago to the abundance available today. White is still the most popular color, although tan is now available; even dark colors such as green and black are being introduced. PVC fences can be rail-type ranch fencing, spaced picket and privacy, and come four to six feet tall. Anchor is Greenville's authorized dealer for both Tek-Rail® and Country Estate®. Like aluminum, PVC is more expensive than wood, but it is maintenance-free and generally has a warranty anywhere from 20 years to life. Call us or visit Tek-Rail.com or CountryEstate.com.

Wood Fences
Wood, usually pressure-treated Southern Pine, is still the most popular fence material. Styles include split-rail and 2 or 3-rail (such as "horse fencing"), spaced picket, privacy, board-on-board and shadow-box. Heights are generally 4 feet and 6 feet tall. Various picket tops are available including dog-ear, gothic/French-gothic, pointed or scalloped; fence tops can also be finished with trim or lattice. Wood fences are generally moderately priced, but do require regular maintenance such as staining or sealing, and they can warp and split. Cedar is also available if desired, but costs considerably more than pine. Call us for more information.

Chain–Link Fences
Generally the lowest cost type of fencing, it is either galvanized or PVC-coated, and its emphasis is more on utility than esthetics. Available in many heights, it installs quickly and is very durable. Increasingly, however, chain-link is not permitted in subdivisions; check with your architectural committee to see if this style is even allowed.
